Close Encounters Of The Strange Kind

Our evening walk started out tonight much like it usually does. We were strolling along discussing various things when this guy who’s walking his dog crosses the street and starts talking to us. He began by informing us of his immense relief that we did not purchase his van. He went on to say that Pete told him it was the fuel pump, but it was actually the water pump and that he was so glad we hadn’t bought it since we would surely hate him now. He ended up selling it for $75.00. I told him how glad I was that he was able to get something for it, and he told me how glad he was that we weren’t going to end up hating him. He finally shook Kevin’s hand and started to walk away. He then turned around and asked us if we traded in some other random car for something else. Kevin said no and we walked on.

We’ve never seen this man in our entire lives before tonight.
