One of my favorite things to do is try new coffee. I mean new good coffee. Last night I had such an opportunity. I recently won a secret contest and received two free pounds of this coffee.

The timing was impeccable. We’ve been trying to finish off a crappy can of coffee and were desperately desiring some quality java. This did not disappoint. It is some really good coffee!

Curious, those of you who are serious coffee drinkers, what’s your favorite brew?

Hands down, I love Starbucks. But because I’m too poor to buy their coffee all the time :0P,
when I buy coffee for home it has to be Folgers. I can not stand any other kind
of regular store bought coffee. Also, Dunkin Doughnuts coffee isn’t half bad. That’s my coffee talk for the day.

Rob preferred Boca Java brand. Not sure what blend he liked, though.

I spout Starbucks, but it’s not an any-siren-will-do thing for me. I don’t like Sumatra unless it’s brewed extra strong (weird, I know, since it’s extra bold), but I like their French, Italian and Espresso roasts. Verona’s good, and I can handle the breakfast blend as a dessert coffee. I want a kick in the tastebuds first thing in the morning, though.

I don’t like Caribou’s Obsidian, so that coupled with my dislike for Sumatras tells me that I just don’t like my coffee with a fruity taste to it. I just want rich, dark and smooth. Maybe a little smoky.

I took your advice and tried 8 o’clock. I brewed it stronger than my ‘Bux (I think I did 5 scoops ground to 6 cups coffee) and it came out comparable to the Breakfast Blend. So I’m happy. I didn’t get sick off it like I do some Arabicas.

Bertrand swears by Black Cat. I’ll have to give that a shot sometime.

    Glad the coffee rocks!
