It’s A Good Day For A Rant
2007 August 26
I am getting so fed up with my particular internet provider. My newest complaint is the multitude of ads plaguing my home page and my email. It takes 9 years to load now, as opposed to the 6 years it used to take.
Add that to the many other complaints I’ve always had about them:
- Cannot use any other mail program to send/receive mail other than a select few they approve.
- No one can actually send email from our house, using our wireless network, except us. It’s not allowed.
- They actually block certain browsers from working, Camino & Opera for example.
I’ve gotten so fed up that we’ve considered switching to cable internet, so I checked out their site and they are offering a really great deal right now, but guess what? For some reason they only support Mac OS 10.4 and up. We have Mac OS 10.3.9
It figures.

I think you can download a free update from the Apple website. Have you tried that yet?
I don’t know about a free update. That’d be great. I was under the impression I’d have to purchase an update
for around about 149.99, since Mac OS x 10.4 is Tiger.
So, I’m not the only one who is fed up with them? I thought it was just me!
Ah, yes. I almost wrote in my previous message that the only time I thought they charged for an update was if you were upgrading to a new OS like Tiger. Sorry.
