Sunday Stealing: The 2011 Year End Meme
Cheers to all of us thieves!
1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before? Lots! Spent a day downtown in a courtroom for jury duty, got my eyebrows threaded (huge fan!) went to a Women of Faith conference, learned to like chili, passed out (twice!), and something else I attempted, but didn’t get to do.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? You know, I don’t think I made any last year? For this year, I want to be more organized. I’m going to start my Christmas shopping for 2012 NOW. Too much pressure at the end of the year, and I really do enjoy finding the right gifts for everyone. Also, I want to purge some things and do some de-cluttering. Also, read WAY more than I ended up doing in 2011.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Um….I did have one friend from high school have a baby boy this past year.
4. Did anyone close to you die? My beloved Deacon Puppy.
5. What countries did you visit? None! My traveling was very limited this past year. I made it to Cleveland and Pittsburgh! Haha! Hope to make up for that in 2012!
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? Um…I don’t know, hair long enough to french braid?
7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? The day we lost Deacon Puppy. And, September 25th.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Growing my hair and *almost* reading the entire bible this year. I got behind, so I have a few weeks left now when I should be done.
9. What was your biggest failure? Probably holding on to some unforgiveness for too long.
10. What was the best thing you bought? Haha, my Trollbead bracelet! Love it!!! Oh, and also my Nook.
11. Whose behavior merited celebration? I can think of a couple people, and one was definitely celebrated. He got a cookie. Another that I celebrate with in my heart is Sam. He’s been through a lot this year, and has really made MORE than the best of what life handed him. I’m proud of you, Sam!
12. Whose behavior made you appalled and disgusted? A few people, but I would never name names.
13. What song will always remind you of 2011? That’s easy, The Edge of Glory!
14. What do you wish you’d done more of? Travel, read
15. What do you wish you’d done less of? Stress out, worry.
16. Did you fall in love in 2011? Always. <3
17. What was your favorite new TV program? Even though it started near the end of 2010…The Walking Dead! This fall, we’ve enjoyed Grimm.
18. What was the best book you read? I need to decide between Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, Divergent by Veronica Roth and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson? You’ve got to be kidding me!
19. What one thing would have made your year measurably more satisfying? Traveling some, and probably actually being able to do that thing I wanted to do.
20. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011? I’ve actually become more fashion-conscience in 2011. I put more thought into the clothes I wear, spend more time on my growing hair, wear more jewelry (Trollbeads!!) and get my eyebrows threaded regularly.
21. What kept you sane? The big three…Faith, Family, Friends!
22. Who did you miss? My mom, a lot. And, my sweet Deacon puppy. Also, those I don’t see/cross paths with as much anymore.
23. Who was the best new person you met? No one I met, but I did develop a very close friendship over the past year with someone I hadn’t known well before this year.
24. Tell us a valuable lesson you learned in 2011? Never over-fast for bloodwork! You will pass out! Twice! Worrying doesn’t do any good, whatever you are worrying about, will soon be in the past and you’ll be on to something new!
25. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. I’m on the edge of glory, and I’m hanging on a moment with you!

Thanks, Kimmy. That means a lot. Really. Thanks.
